The Invitation

For too long, some of the most thoughtful terracotta work in Indian architecture has lived quietly in project files and portfolios, seen by few beyond the original client. The Nuvocotto Terracotta Design Award wants to change that.

We are inviting architects, designers, studios, and institutions to submit completed projects from the last twenty years where terracotta was central to the design. Residential, commercial, public, institutional. Any scale, any typology. The only question is whether the material was used with intent.

The best work, fifteen projects or more, will be displayed in a dedicated zone at the event venue. Selected designers will be invited to attend the event. The work will be documented and promoted by the Nuvocotto Terracotta Design Award platform.

Why This Matters

This zone takes audiences through two decades of possibility. It shows what terracotta can do in the hands of designers who believed in it before it was widely celebrated. It gives that work the attention it deserves. And it leaves a permanent record that future designers can learn from.

We request you to submit your past projects so that future designers can be inspired. Submit not for an award, but for the archive. For the record. For the designers who come after you.
