Track 1 is the Featured Projects call. You submit a completed terracotta project from the last twenty years. Selected work is featured and exhibited at the TDA 2026 event and added to a permanent archive of significant terracotta design. This is not a competition.

Track 2 is the award itself. Three judged categories open to new and recent work: Terracotta Facades, Terracotta Futures, and Terracotta Reimagined.

Yes. You can submit a past project for Track 1 and also register for Track 2.

Terracotta Facades: facade design where terracotta is the primary material of the building's external skin. Any typology.
Terracotta Futures: unbuilt and conceptual work that shows where the material could go in thoughtful design hands.
Terracotta Reimagined: product and element design that expands what terracotta can do at the level of the unit or system.

A jury of practitioners who have spent their careers thinking about design and material. Jury members are announced progressively. Follow our Instagram and website for reveals.

The award is open to architects, designers, students, studios, and institutions. You can participate as an individual, a team of up to three people, or in the name of a studio or institution.

Fill in the registration form on the award website, select your category, and submit. You will receive a unique TDA ID by email immediately. That ID goes on all your correspondence and your submission.

Registration is the first step and closes on 18 August 2026. It takes a few minutes and gives you your TDA ID. Submission is the actual work you send in, by email, before 24 September 2026. You have time between registration and submission to prepare your materials.

Yes. Each project requires a separate registration and TDA ID.

Images in JPG or PNG, minimum 1500px on the shorter edge, maximum 10MB per image. Technical drawings in PDF, maximum 20MB total. If your files are large, share them via a download link such as Google Drive or WeTransfer. Make sure the link is accessible without a sign-in.

Track 1 Submissions are reviewed and curated by the TDA team.
Track 2 submissions go through an initial eligibility review, then are evaluated by the jury across six parameters: design intent, material integration, material performance, craft and resolution, innovation, and relevance. Each parameter is scored on a scale of 1 to 10, with category-specific weightages.

Shortlisted participants are contacted directly by the TDA team. A public announcement of finalists will also be made on our website and social media channels.

The top three from each category, twelve entries in total, are shortlisted and invited to the event in Kozhikode. Travel and accommodation are covered by Nuvocotto, subject to budgetary considerations at the time of shortlisting. Shortlisted entrants present their work before the jury at the event, and winners are announced on 24 October 2026.

By submitting, you grant Nuvocotto permission to use submitted materials for event display, publications, social media, press, and documentation, with credit given to you or your studio. Full terms are in the Terms and Conditions document sent with your registration confirmation.
